Not enough time, not enough time!!!
There are so many things I have on my list to do! I finally got my lotion ingredients so I was going to try a test batch. I also got a few new fragrances in so soaping is on the horizon! Wooot! I also get to try out my new cutter on that gorgeous smelling soap. I've got a new body spray formulation that needs testing, not to mention the knitting and sewing things I have planned. There is not enough time in the day! Ugh, why can't I just stay home and make pretty stuff? LOL

My favorite Christmas song....
My favorite Christmas song is "Oh Holy Night". There is a little story behind it, too.
I remember finally getting the courage to venture to the NICU to see my newborn daughter. I'd had her the day before, but with her having a serious health problem and me already losing a few babies to miscarriage I was afraid of getting hurt again. I spoke to my husband the next evening and he said "She's all alone up there". It was like someone jerked me out of my dreamworld and into reality. My little one needed me. The nurse got me ready and took me up to the NICU. First things first, I had to scrub my hands and arms with a scrub brush and special soap. Then I was allowed to continue inside. It was the middle of the night the lights were dimmed. Room after room we passed, with fragile little bodies full of tubes and wires lay on tiny little beds. Finally the nurse stops at a door and pushes me inside. It was dark in the room but there was a light on behind the bed. The soft light surrounded my Faith Noelle like a halo and she looked almost angelic. It was then I noticed that a radio was playing in the background and the song playing was "Oh Holy Night." The nurse left me for a moment and I was able to touch Faith's cheek. I told her "If you have any of me in you--you will FIGHT. You will fight and you will win no matter what". Her right eye opened up at the sound of my voice, and she looked at me as I looked at her. I think in that moment we understood each other: this tiny little gift from God and her stubborn and unyielding but very loving mother. Faith left the hospital December 24, 13 days after she was born. She is still a fighter and the song "Oh Holy Night" still makes me cry happy tears. Merry Christmas everyone!

My gift exchange person is going to be happy!
I just love giving presents! My gift recipient is getting two of my 8 oz candles, an ice cream scoop soap, a pie soap, two lip balms and a small decorative jar of organic Madagascar vanilla beans she can make extract with. I am so excited, I hope she likes everything!
If you haven't made your own vanilla extract and are very fond of baking...you MUST try homemade vanilla extract! It is yummah! You can actually get very nice organic beans on Ebay now. I deal with a seller there who is wonderful. Anyone who wants the vendor, just email me and I will give you the info. ALSO, I have alot of vanilla recipes....so anyone who wants them just shoot me an email as these recipes are not on my recipe site.
Anyone caught in the middle of this nasty blizzard--please be careful! The roads were horrible this evening. I know the ride in to work was a white knuckle ride too! Please take proper precautions. There is no place in the world worth dying to get to! Slow down and turn on your lights too. Your presence this holiday season will mean more than presents. Just be safe out there.

OMG, more made-in-China garbage!!!
My son fell asleep wearing a necklace he had gotten as a prize at the local library's summer reading fair. (The necklace is a black cord with a silver dragon medallion on it.) When he woke up this morning, he had a red mark on his face. I didn't think anything of it, thinking perhaps he had leaned on a toy as he slept. He does like to smuggle a good toy or two into his bed! Well, after an hour or so I noticed he still had the red mark on his face but it is even angrier. Upon closer inspection, I notice there is a pattern. A DRAGON pattern! That is when it dawned on me that this poor child had laid on the rather large "charm" of the necklace and it has left a horrible red mark on his face!! I just got home from work a few hours ago and the mark is still there!! I need to post a pic. I am calling the library tomorrow to see if they can tell me where they got the necklaces so I know who to contact. After seeing the blog about the Wal-Mart flip-flops and the chemical burns I am really starting to freak out! (Just added a link to that blog in my links section....check it out!) Yet again, another reason to buy American and buy handmade!
