Happy Birthday to me!!!

Well, today I am another year older! I had taken 4 days off of work as a sort of mini-vacation and did get a few things accomplished in that time. I was able to make my Caramel Latte HP soap. It turned out very nicely! Once cut, I stamped it with some bronze mica and a coffee mug stamp. I also made a big batch of bath bombs although that was a disaster in the making! (the workshop was soooo cold my ingredients were freezing!!) Today I made lotion from scratch! It was alot of fun, besides the many precautions you have to take so you don't end up with little beasties growing in your lotion.

We did the broke-ass restaurant crawl today for my birthday, and it was fun!! We gathered up all the gift cards from Christmases past and made a dinner of it. Hubby had Longhorn, kids had Applebee's and I had Macaroni Grill! It was yummah! (and I want to give a huuuuge recommendation for Macaroni Grill! I got 3 days worth of food for less than $20!) That's all for now....I got so used to getting up whenever I want! Six a.m. is going to roll around rather quickly! LOL g'nite all!

New candle pics!

I finally got done with the new pics for the website! (see above) My other pics were sooo outdated. I am really happy with the newer ones. I also got the Etsy store up over the weekend! Woot! I just got the link added. My birthday is coming up (January 21) and am looking forward to a 4 day weekend and hopefully busting out the sewing machine! :o) If I don't end up sewing my fingers together I will post about how it all went.

Inventory and CPHP

CHECK OUT THE CUT PICS ABOVE!! WOOOOHOOOO, I COOKED SOAP!!

Hey, I actually got started on inventory! Go, me! I absolutely loathe doing inventory and always put it off until the last minute. (Yep, then tax time becomes such a wonderful time at my house! NOT!) I bought some software that I am programming all of my inventory into and then my items I sell. When it is all set up, it will automatically deduct from my inventory every time I make a new batch of candles, soaps, etc. I am so excited! Once I get everything entered and keep up with it, my life will get a little easier. (and hey, easy is a good thing!) I also got to make soap recently using a new (to me, anyway) process. I make most of my soaps the cold process method. I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried CPHP! (Crockpot Hot Process) It was amazing to watch all of the stages the soap goes through, but I admit I still love Cold process more! The batch turned out pretty nicely, though, and I will have to post pics when I get a chance.

I would like to say, on a completely different note, that I would like to offer my prayers to the family of the four babies that were killed in AL recently. It breaks my heart to hear of such tragedies. I've been through 2 miscarriages and have two children with different health problems, but I love my babies and wouldn't think of harming them. They are my little gifts from God. So this is a note to all psychopaths out there who think killing their kids is the answer: Send them to me. I will take them in and you can go throw yourself off of a bridge, destroy yourselves with drugs or whatever it is that you people do. There is enough love in my house for all of them.
